APT and AmaWaterways have this week officially christened their newest European rivership, the luxury 164-passenger vessel, the MS AmaSerena, in Vilshofen, Germany.

The christening, attended by AmaWaterways’ co-founders, Rudi Schreiner and Kristin Karst, were joined by the ship’s godmother, Michelle Fee – CEO and Co-Founder of Cruise Planners, an American Express travel representative – for a series of christening festivities. Local dignitaries, including Mayor Florian Gams and 2nd County Commissioner, Rainmund Kneidinger, helped officially welcome the vessel to the fleet.

Commenting on the occasion, APT Chief Marketing Officer, Debra Fox, said, “We recently officially welcomed the AmaVenita to our fleet, with Rebekah McGeary serving as her godmother, and so we delighted that her sister ship, the AmaSerena has now also been officially welcomed to our ever-expanding innovative fleet of luxury European riverships.”

AmaSerena and AmaVenita join the APT and AmaWaterways fleet alongside sister ships the AmaReina, AmaPrima, AmaCerto and AmaSonata.

The ship’s accommodations feature the line’s first-ever connecting staterooms, signature twin balconies, salon and spa services, sun decks, multiple dining venues, wine rooms, as well as fitness rooms and heated sun deck swimming pools with swim-up bars.

Guests can book to travel aboard the AmaVenita on APT’s Royal Collection cruises, or the AmaSerena on APT Voyages cruises.
