IHG appoints new Director of Communications

Yvette Peverell has been appointed Director of Communications – Australasia and Japan for InterContinental Hotels Group.With 15 years’ of experience in public relations in the tourism sector, including a decade in the hotel industry, Yvette previously worked for Accor Asia Pacific and for Mantra Group, overseeing both internal and external communications. In addition to her role, Yvette will be the conduit for media in the region to access information from the global IHG network.“We are so pleased to have someone of Yvette’s calibre on board in what is a strategic growth period across Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Our network is set to expand not only in hotel and room numbers but also with the introduction of a new brand to Australia with the launch of Holiday Inn Express. 2016 is truly set to be a landmark year for IHG,” said Chief Operating Officer Karin Sheppard, whose team Yvette will be joining as the region’s senior communications counsel based at the Sydney office.InterContinental Hotels Group currently has a portfolio of 28 hotels in Australia, seven in New Zealand and PNG, and 32 in Japan.
