After the success of Abercrombie & Kent’s first hosted literary journey through India earlier this year, a second has been designed around the 2017 Jaipur Literature Festival.Hosted once again by award-winning author and sensitive, well-credentialled travel companion, Claire Scobie, the group of no more than 18 guests will meet local writers and follow in the footsteps of famous novelists while travelling from Delhi to Mumbai and seeing iconic monuments like the Taj Mahal, Amber Fort and Udaipur’s City Palace along the way. There’s an adventure through Old Delhi on foot, a cruise on Udaipur’s Lake Pichola and an experience of daily life on Mumbai’s Marine Drive. From beginning to end, India comes alive through its literature and guests spend two days at the Jaipur Literature Festival joining audiences to be entertained by a galaxy of international and Indian authors. On this journey guests can look forward to travelling with like-minded companions, exclusive literary lunches and talks from local authors in Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai, special insights and readings by Claire in atmospheric settings, meeting the authors themselves, bedding down in chic city hotels and historic palaces as well as visiting some of India’s finest monuments, many which feature in local and foreign literary works.Tour dates: 14 – 26 January 2017Price: Twin share per person – $12,695, Single supplement: $5,820
