Sir Richard Branson’s privately owned collection of award-winning luxury hotels and retreats Virgin Limited Edition has announced the opening of Son Bunyola situated on the northwest coast of Mallorca, which Branson bought 13 years ago, sold to a wealthy couple, and reacquired last year.Jon Brown, Managing Director of Virgin Limited Edition, said: “It is well known that both Virgin Limited Edition and Sir Richard Branson have historic ties and a great fondness for Mallorca and we are delighted that Son Bunyola will be joining the collection.”Son Bunyola is a large private historic estate which is made up of one main Finca building dating back to the 1800s surrounded by vines, citrus fruit trees, almonds and olive trees. There are also three individual villas –Sa Punta de S’Aguila (five bedrooms), Sa Terra Rotja (four bedrooms) and Son Balagueret (due to open in the northern summer of 2017) – each of which has its own private grounds.The estate is over 283 hectares and is located in between Esporles and Banyalbufar on the northwest coast of Mallorca. The area is dominated by the Tramuntana mountain range with its breathtaking scenery, and is home to some of the most historical and picturesque towns on the island.
