Scenic’s newest river cruise ship, Scenic Aura, launched on Myanmar’s Irrawaddy River on 19 September. Forty-four guests joined the maiden 10-day voyage from Pyay to Mandalay and were the first to experience the unprecedented level of luxury Scenic has brought to the Irrawaddy.Scenic Aura provides an intimate environment with just 22 all-balcony suites for 44 guests. All suites feature separate bedroom, living room and balcony and range in size from the 24-square-metre Balcony Suite complete with Scenic Sun Lounge up to the impressive 70-square-metre Royal Panorama Suite which is the largest suite on the Irrawaddy, and features four separate zones: bathroom with extra-large bathtub, rainfall shower and walk-in dressing room; bedroom; living room and outdoor forward facing deck complete with daybed and Jacuzzi.The five-star Scenic Aura also boasts a choice of dining venues offering à la carte to casual dining made from the freshest local produce, a vitality pool and bar area, spacious bar and lounge, Sun Deck with open-air cinema, complimentary beverages, butler service for all guests, an almost 1:1 guest-to-staff ratio plus a guest laundry. As with all Scenic river cruises, guests will also enjoy included tips and gratuities, expert local guides, all Scenic Freechoice activities to personalise their experience plus Scenic Enrich special events and Scenic Sundowners cocktail receptions.Glen Moroney, Chairman, commented: “We are excited to have launched our second ship in South East Asia.
