As the cold months hit the Northern Hemisphere, cosy up by the fireplace within The Living Room of The Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown in Washington, DC and experience an ambience of both glamour and history.

For the first time this fall, The Living Room will feature a custom designed bar that blends with the industrial chic décor of the hotel adorned in flame inspired artwork. The bar will serve a variety of coffee selections in the mornings so that guests can start the day by the fireplace, catch up on world events and smell the bubbling of hot cappuccinos, chocolate espressos and coffee mocktails. In the evenings, order from the cocktail menu, which features local ingredients and liquors inspired by Georgetown’s history as a centre for trade.

As the most historic boutique hotel in the area, guests may also choose to have a private dining experience in the Chimney Stack Room, an exclusive space set inside the chimney stack, the same structure as when it was built in 1932. Whether celebrating an anniversary, birthday or any special occasion, Tyler Thaxton, the Hotel’s Executive Chef, specialises in customising the guest experience for such occasions through artisanal dishes that are inspired by the history that surrounds the hotel.
