 China Southern Airlines has had quite a year. In 2016, the airline carried 115 million passengers around the world, making them the #1 airline in Asia, and this week it celebrated 20 years of flying direct from Guangzhou into Australia.The celebration, held at Sydney’s historic Grace Hotel, was MCd by Mr Louis Lu, Managing Director, China Southern Airlines Australia & New Zealand.Among the distinguished guests were John O’Sullivan, Managing Director, Tourism Australia; Kerrie Mather, CEO, Sydney Airport; and Sandra Chipchase, CEO, Destination NSW. Attendees enjoyed yum cha-style catering and the entertainment of Captain George, who serenaded guests with his rendition of ‘I Believe in Flying’, accompanied by fantastic bird and aircraft noise impressions.LATTE‘s own Howard Shaw was the recipient of one of the door prizes, winning a return airfare.china-southern3-1000china-southern1-1000
