InterContinental Wellington’s light-filled Chameleon Restaurant has been attracting accolades for its menu, including the recent Best Beef Dish in the Silver Farm Premier Selection Awards for its beef tenderloin with mushroom ragout, roast parmesan gnocchi, button onion and asparagus.Chameleon’s menu encourages diners to indulge by ordering a number of dishes, created using local produce, by Chef de Cuisine Paul Limacher.Chameleon’s other awards in the Silver Farm Premier Selection were for Best Metropolitan Restaurant, and Premier Master of Fine Cuisine for Limacher. With one wall covered in an art installation featuring 61 chrome-dipped hands, and another floor-to-ceiling glass looking onto the street, this is a delightful setting for a quick or lingering meal.Other dining options at InterContinental Wellington include the Lobby Lounge, which offers an array of drinks and light meals throughout the day as well as a gourmet High Tea which features a selection of TWG teas in Cristina Re teaware.Guests who stay in Club InterContinental rooms also have access to the Club InterContinental Lounge, which has outstanding harbour and city views. The lounge offers an all-day barista coffee, hot and cold buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and evening canapés, served with a selection of craft beers and New Zealand’s wines. Those who want to travel further for culinary exploration can take advantage of the hotel’s recently-arrived 2016 BMW 7 Series or the ultimate luxury and comfort of the Bentley Flying Spur for a day trip to the Martinborough wine region (or elsewhere, as the mood takes you).
