Thanks to Alison Roberts-Brown of Monaco Tourism, a sponsor of Australia’s biggest charity race day, the Signature Media team donned their finest for a day out at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney on Saturday 26 August. Thirty-one charities were represented at the ASX Thomson Reuters Charity Foundation Race Day, including Wheelchair Sports NSW, National Jockey’s Trust and Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. The 1700 attendees exceeded the $200,000 target, raising $220,000 on the day through a silent auction (Lot 1 was the hotly contested flight to London and Nice, including driving a Formula 1 car), raffle and donations.Vince Sorrenti regaled the crowd as MC, while legendary trainer Gai Waterhouse shared her top picks for the day’s races. Guests dined on gnocchi and tender steak, enjoying cheese platters from dedicated stations. Johnnie Walker poured libations beside the track, and Baileys ice-cream was a perfect sweet treat to enjoy in the sun. As the racing reached a conclusion, Endless Summer Beach Party kept the festive atmosphere going with classics from the 1960s through today.
