With the trend for experiential travel continuing to make tracks, luxury travellers – or ‘Luxplorers’ – are adopting a ‘carpe diem’ mindset, pursuing adventures that allow them to traverse the world in style. Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi has launched safari-style Tented Jungle Villas, offering an authentic experience in the heart of the resort’s inland jungle to unleash the explorer in every traveller.A unique alternative to overwater accommodation, the Tented Jungle Villas house an outdoor rain shower, roll-top tub and locally sourced, rustic interiors.Set in their own private wilderness, the Tented Jungle Villas are built to mirror the beauty and diversity of the island’s verdant flora and fauna. Built with wooden frames, amber-toned interiors and walls swathed in white canvas, travellers have the opportunity to get closer to nature. A harmonious balance of space and seclusion, the Tented Jungle Villas house a master suite with Californian king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom, a spacious al fresco lounge complete with handmade wooden furnishings, and a Sala for communal dining that overlooks the private pool and outdoor bathtub.A sun-soaked sanctuary recently opened in May 2018, Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi is the only resort on the pristine atoll, offering 112 luxury villas, each with their own private pool. In addition to the luxury Tented Jungle Villas, the Beach and Water Villas are bohemian-inspired, with rustic chic interiors, copper bathroom fittings and carved wood detailing, ideal for both couples and families. The five-star resort features three restaurants, a poolside bar, a 200-metre infinity pool (the largest in the Maldives), the signature Willow Stream Spa and a Kids’ Club. Watersport enthusiasts can enjoy an array of exhilarating excursions including fishing, a sunset dolphin cruise aboard the private yacht, jet skiing or kayaking around the crystal-clear lagoon.
