Kempinski Hotels is set to open the first five-star luxury resort complex in Cuba. The 245-room and -suite Cayo Guillermo Resort Kempinski is currently under construction and is scheduled to open during 2019.For nearly two years, the luxury hotelier has operated Cuba’s first five-star city hotel, Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana.The all-new resort hotel in the paradisiacal location of Cayo Guillermo, approximately 500 kilometres east of Havana, will offer the brand’s discerning guests an experience of exclusivity and privacy away from the hustle and bustle of the tropical island’s capital city. Cuba’s first non-all-inclusive resort hotel will become the luxury hideaway from the crowds.Cayo Guillermo will feature six over-water villas with stunning panoramic views and a minimum size of at least 75 sqm each, plus a 200 sqm over-water presidential suite, all with private pools.Most standard guest rooms will also boast unobstructed sea views and the famous white sand Playa Pilar beach will be directly adjacent to the resort.
