Premium passengers flying with Qantas internationally are now permitted to bring one carry-on bag weighing up to 10kgs onboard under changes introduced by the Australian airline this week. The move aims to give First, Business and Premium Economy class travellers greater flexibility in how they use their allowance. Those customers will now have the same allowance of 14kgs across two bags, but with the added flexibility in how they distribute the weight, courtesy of Qantas’ beefed up maximum weight for one item from the previous 7 kilogram limit. In summary, the new carry-on ruling for Premium class travellers on overseas flights will be:
  • 1 x 10kg bag (115cm) OR
  • 2 x bags (105cm each) with a combined weight of 14kg, max 10kg for one piece OR
  • 1 x 10kg bag (105cm) and 1 x 185cm soft garment bag
Passengers flying in International Economy will still be limited to a maximum 7kg carry-on luggage. Qantas advises that all customers need to ensure their carryon bags are within the weight limit on their ticket and that they’re able to lift their own bags into the overhead lockers. Cabin bins that are too full or bags that are too heavy can cause a safety risk for both customers and crew. Want to be in the luxury travel know?
