How do you celebrate your 35th birthday when you’re a multi-millionaire popstar? If you’re Katy Perry, you shout 60-odd of your closest friends on a 10-day cruise tour down the Nile, sailing aboard the swish Oberoi Zahra luxury cruise ship, of course!Late last month, Perry invited a group of her closest friends and family on a five-star voyage down the Nile. While details of the cruise have remained confidential, one of the revellers posted a video on social media confirming the sailing was with luxury travel company, Oberoi.Perry had initially planned to cruise the Nile five years ago for her 30th birthday, but when details were leaked beforehand, the voyage was cancelled due to security concerns. This time around however guests have remained tight-lipped about the holiday until its conclusion.Jewellery designer Markus Molinari let the cat out of the bag in a post a few days ago, posting on Instagram: How to build a ?powerful bond?‍?‍?‍? in 10 days. Get 64 people hand picked by a musical ? goddess @KatyPerry to live on a boat down the Nile with only ONE request from from her that each of us step out of our comfort zones and for every meal sit with someone different.”
Molinari also shared a number of videos on board the ship, as well as a clip from the shoreline, identifying the ship as The Oberoi Zahra Luxury Nile Cruiser.
The Oberoi Zahra features 27 luxury cabins and suites and operates between Aswan and Luxor, typically over five days. Below are images on board the ship, depicting what guests would have experienced on board the five-star vessel.Images of the songstress herself on board The Oberoi Zahra enjoying the luxury experience are harder to find, but Perry has shared a collection of photos at the Great Pyramids, Abu Simbel, Aswan and the Temple of Isis, including partner and Hollywood star, Orlando Bloom.A number of other guests have also subsequently shared images from the trip through Egypt, some of which are featured below.https://www.instagram.com/p/B4aAChDB9_L/https://www.instagram.com/p/B4aa2MCBxY4/https://www.instagram.com/p/B4U1HpTnhOR/ Perry’s recent visit would also be seen as a boost for tourism to Egypt, with her posts and those of her travelling companions generating renewed interest in the destination by her millions of social media followers.Want to be in the luxury travel know?
