Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas has debuted its first property in North Africa, the Anantara Tozeur Resort. Situated at the edge of the Sahara Desert in the southwest of Tunisia, the new resort has been influenced by its Arabian and North African surroundings, offering a gateway to ancients culture and the wonders of the surrounding desert.
Set in clusters along weaving pathways and among landscaped courtyards, Anantara Tozeur Resort features 93 luxurious guest rooms, suites and villas. The interiors boast extraordinary attention to detail with a subtle interweaving of Berber patterns, North African furnishings, materials, textures and desert colours – warm and inviting with spacious bedrooms and spa-like bathrooms, complete with rain shower and separate bathtub and outdoor terraces. Every detail, from marble floor patterns to inlaid timber screens and traditional fret-cut lighting, highlights Tunisia’s rich heritage. Two exclusive three-bedroom Royal Villas each feature over 800 square metres of refined living space and panoramic views of the Chott el Djerid salt flats. There are five dining outlets on-site, including the Mekong, which serves signature Southeast Asian delights, and Whiskeypedia, a fine whiskey and cigar haven.
