Bookings have opened for the inaugural Arctic season of Quark Expeditions‘ highly-anticipated polar vessel, Ultramarine. 2021 voyages will incorporate Spitsbergen, Greenland, the Canadian Arctic. This season will include many new, inspiring excursions and amenities exclusive to Ultramarine and Quark Expeditions.The 199-passenger 1A+ Polar Class 6 expedition ship will feature two twin-engine helicopters to transport small groups to remote fjords and locations other ships can’t access. The suite of helicopter experiences include flightseeing, heli-landing, heli-hiking, ice sheet observation, alpine kayaking, mountain biking and camping.Ultramarine will also house 20 Zodiacs in a hangar close to the waterline, allowing guests to get off the ship in half the time of that of industry averages, to enjoy more spontaneous adventures than previously possible.The vessel will join the Quark Expeditions’ fleet at the start of the 2021 Arctic season, offering more wildlife-viewing spaces than any expedition ship of its size.
