Bangkok has been earmarked as a future destination for Marriott’s Ritz-Carlton Reserve ultra-luxury brand under a new four property deal between the hotel heavyweight and Thailand’s Asset World Corporation (AWC).Ritz-Carlton Reserve launched in 2008, offering a private sanctuary experience. Currently there are five hotels within the portfolio in Los Cabos in Mexico, Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico, Ubud in Bali, Indonesia, Niseko Village in Japan and Krabi, also in Thailand, which was the maiden Ritz-Carlton Reserve.
Among the other Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties are – 1. Phulay Bay, Krabi / 2. Mandapa, Ubud / 3. Dorado Beach, Los Cabos
The new Thai developments are focused on Bangkok’s revamped “Asiatique The Riverfront” precinct and include:
the 124-room Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Bangkok at Asiatique The Riverfront (expected to open in 2027), positioned on the curve of the Chao Phraya River
the behemoth 1,000-room JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Asiatique Bangkok (2027 targeted opening)
the 208-room Asiatique Bangkok, Autograph Collection (forecast to debut in 2024)
Additionally, the duo will bring to life the 306-room Aquatique Pattaya, Autograph Collection hotel, slated to launch in 2024. Aquatique The Beachfront Pattaya is a new “mega scale mixed-use destination concept”, that will include shopping centres, theme parks (including LEGOLAND), an underground aquarium, all in close proximity to Pattaya’s beach.It will join other Marriott properties at the site which include the Pattaya Marriott Marquis Hotel and JW Marriott The Pattaya Beach Resort & Spa, which are currently under development.In all, the new hotel management agreement between Marriott and AWC encompassed more than 1,600 rooms.Lead image for illustrative purposes – Dorado, A Ritz-Carlton ReserveWant to be in the luxury travel know?
