New GM takes the reins at Kokomo

Sean Flakelar, General Manager, Kokomo Private IslandFiji’s exclusive Kokomo Private Island has named Sean Flakelar as the property’s new General Manager.Prior to his commencement with Kokomo Private Island, Flakelar gained experience with AMAN Resorts for nearly 20 years, where he managed some of their most iconic properties such as Amanjiwo, Amanoi, and Amangalla.Flakelar was AMAN’s Country Manager for Indonesia and most recently served as Country Manager at AMAN in Galle Fort, Sri Lanka.He brings exceptional skills at ensuring that guests have the highest quality and most memorable experiences. Among his many accolades, he was named Best General Manager Worldwide by Gallivanter’s in 2017.Flakelar’s breadth of experience in luxury travel and hospitality will make for a strong addition to the team in place both on-island and at the Sydney, Australia headquarters. He will initially be based in Sydney before relocating to Fiji, where he will be based full-time, working with the team to prepare the island for re-opening in April 2021.

Kokomo Private Island recently joined the Regenerative Resorts, a consortia of like-minded eco-luxury resorts and hotels focused on “crowd-free, conscious, and planet-friendly travel habits”.
