Aman has revealed its Janu branded hotel in Tokyo will be developed alongside the group’s maiden residence-only property, Aman Residences, Tokyo.The dual property project in Tokyo will be located in the Toranomon-Azabudai development that has been 30 years in the making. The project will become the city’s newest landmark in 2023.
Janu is a sister-brand of Aman. The new entity was first revealed by the ultra-luxury hospitality company two years ago, having signed three projects in Montenegro, Saudi Arabia (AlUla) and Tokyo.Janu Tokyo had initially been earmarked to launch in 2022.Aman describes Janu as a brand that “will bring a contemporary and playful spirit to the Toranomon-Azabudai development, while respecting the sense of place”.Janu Tokyo will consist of 120 guest rooms and suites and will occupy a prime position facing the project’s central square within a building identified as the ‘B-2 District Tower’.The hotel will occupy the first 13-storeys of the tower. It will be designed by Denniston under the leadership of Jean-Michel Gathy. The property will include the Janu Spa featuring extensive wellness facilities, as well as six dining restaurants, a cafe and bars.The Aman Residences, Tokyo will claim the top 11 floors of the 64-level tower, one of three in the development. The urban residences will offer 91 exclusive homes, designed by Yabu Pushelberg, as well as lifestyle services and a residents-only Aman Spa.
