Garden City Helicopter (GCH Aviation) in Christchurch has launched a new fly-in winery experience that takes guests on a private helicopter flight to five unique vineyards for indulgent wine tastings.The ‘Between the Vines’ experience unlocks the beautiful North Canterbury Waipara Valley wine region right on the doorstep of Christchurch City.Landings include Georges Road Wines which produces some of New Zealand’s finest Syrah and Pinot Gris; Terrace Edge Vineyard for a Food & Wine matching experience; the 100% certified organic Greystone Vineyard; the cellar door at Black Estate Wines; and the 500+ medal Waipara Hills Wine.

Caroline Blanchfield, Group Marketing Manager for the GCH Aviation Group says the new product is targeted at locals looking for a new experience on their doorstep and is also set to appeal to Aussies as a ‘stay and play’ experience as part of the Trans-Tasman travel corridor.“If you think about who else might like to do this trip, it will be a marvelous experience for conference partner programs or corporate reward and incentive programs to offer to their clients.”“We wanted to create something that is not currently offered in this format, showcasing different wineries that offer their stories along with their wines. Something that will get people experiencing five boutique wineries during late morning or afternoon without having to drive,” Blanchfield said.
Between the Vines is priced at NZ$750 per person.
