“For many, being at home during the pandemic ignited a curiosity about other cultures and the history that shaped them,” said Ann Epting, A&K’s Senior Vice President, Private Jet & Special Interest Travel. “We designed this itinerary to immerse guests in the touchstones that define these different civilisations, with access to some of the world’s most fascinating people, places and celebrations.
“The response from travel advisors was overwhelming, with more than 40 guests on the waiting list, so we’ve added a second departure,” Epting said.
Departing from Seattle on 28 May 2022, the ‘Cultural Treasures’ route includes destinations such as Samarkand, Kathmandu and Abu Dhabi, where enduring history blends seamlessly with a bustling modern culture. Other locations to be explored include Taipei, Nepal, Bhutan, Agra, Petra and Palermo, before concluding in Boston.
A collection of invitation-only events are also built into the itinerary, including a tshechu ceremony, a longstanding Bhutanese tradition with masked dancers; after-hours access through the Taipei’s National Palace Museum; and an exclusive Sicilian welcome party styled after a traditional wedding, with celebratory dancing, music and food, all arranged exclusively for A&K guests.Travelling in supreme comfort aboard A&K’s chartered Boeing 757, guests in the air enjoy custom-designed Italian leather seats that open to fully lie-flat beds 6.5′ long (79” pitch). En route, they enjoy a fully stocked, open bar featuring top-shelf wine and spirits, in addition to first-class meal service. The 28 May 2022 ‘Cultural Treasures: Around the World by Private Jet’ itinerary is priced at AU$200,000 per person, twin share.
