“We are incredibly proud of our resilient team for weathering the devastation of the pandemic on the travel industry and continuing to drive business to Africa under the Ker & Downey Africa brand. We contribute a large part of our success to our relentless focus on the luxury traveler, the geographic spread of our source markets and the expertise and experience of our management team based in Cape Town and Arusha,” said Lee Kelsall, CEO of the Ker & Downey Africa Group.“As we enter a new phase of tourism recovery, we have implemented a development strategy that will see the brand expand its reach into several new markets around the globe, adding a significant presence in all the major source markets to Africa,” Kelsall continued.
“We are starting to see a sustained uptick in business from our major source markets. This is clearly linked to the success of the country’s vaccination programmes. The leader in this respect is the USA where there is clearly increased demand for tailored itineraries for upscale travellers, and we expect Europe to follow suit in the coming months,” Kelsall said. The DMC doesn’t have an office in Australia as yet, however travel agents are invited to contact Ker & Downey Africa’s home base in Cape Town.
