Rolling cancellations continue for Paul Gauguin Cruises

Paul Gauguin Cruises (PGC) has further postponed its planned recommencement of sailings in French Polynesia, shelving two imminent departures.The luxury cruise line announced on Friday that it had been forced to cancel the week-long sailings of Le Paul Gauguin from Tahiti, scheduled for 11 and 18 September 2021.PGC cited an extension of travel restrictions by Polynesian authorities due to COVID-19 for the latest cancellations. According to Tahiti Tourisme’s website, the suspension on cruising in French Polynesia has been extended until 20 September.“At this time Paul Gauguin Cruises plans to resume service on September 25, 2021,” the boutique cruise line added.Based on Paul Gauguin Cruises’ website, the freshly renovated Le Paul Gauguin is now earmarked to return to service on an 11-night sailing from Papeete to the Cook Islands and Society Islands.PGC, which is owned by Ponant, had hoped to resume operations after an extended pause in late-August, but has been impacted by a number of COVID-19 related setbacks since July.
