Carolyn Turnbull, Managing Director, Tourism WA said the appointment will help drive success for Western Australia’s tourism industry as the State prepares to reconnect to the rest of the world.“Tourism WA is delighted to have The Walshe Group on the ground on the east coast for us, providing in-market support through trade engagement and PR strategies that bolster our domestic marketing efforts to increase visitation, yield and dispersal.
“Now more than ever, it is important to ensure that WA is connected with travel trade and media, so having the Walshe Group as our representatives on the east coast reporting trends and implementing trade training and engagement activities in our target markets will be crucial,” said Turnbull.
The Walshe Group’s Executive Chairman Jacqui Walshe said the company was excited to be given the opportunity.“We’re eager to begin inspiring the travel trade industry, and ultimately their customers, to actively plan a visit to Western Australia. It’s such a special part of Australia with many extraordinary and diverse experiences – whether it is the spectacular scenery, biodiversity or world-class food and wine.“We’re delighted to be given the opportunity to promote Western Australia to the travel trade in the eastern states as the borders reopen,” Ms Walshe said.
