Australians can visit Korea without the need to apply for a K-ETA for another year thanks to an extension of the exemption period for travellers from 68 countries.The K-ETA exemption was originally introduced on 1 April 2023 as part of the celebrations for Visit Korea Year 2023-2024 – a Korean Government initiative to attract more tourists to South Korea.Now, it will end on 31 December 2025 rather than the 31 December 2024 originally planned.

“During this period, South Korea has experienced record numbers of travellers from Australia and New Zealand, with visitor numbers continuing to grow due to the country’s increasing popularity,” a Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) statement said.To celebrate this turn of events, KTO ANZ is offering citizens of Australia and New Zealand planning to travel to Korea by 30 June 2025 a chance to win one of 100 AU$50 Klook gift cards.To enter, simply complete this form and upload a screenshot or image of your e-ticket showing your full name and travel destinations from Australia or New Zealand to Korea.
