The Noosa Council in Queensland has given a green light for the development of a new five-star resort in the coastal town.Noosa Springs Boutique Hotel will be developed by GH Properties and form part of the existing golf course and clubhouse, day spa and fitness centre. The hotel will feature 69 luxury rooms, a restaurant and lounge bar, resort-style swimming pools and an upgraded tennis centre.“We look forward to delivering a world-class boutique hotel that integrates and complements the existing resort facilities,” Noosa Springs said. “It will provide a broader range of programs and services that will benefit all who live, play, and stay at the resort.”The project is a sister club to Links Hope Island, Gold Coast.
In October, the Noosa Council also approved the Calile Hotel Noosa, a sister property to Brisbane’s classy The Calile Hotel, recognised in the World’s 50 Best Hotel list. The five-star Calile Noosa will comprise 153 rooms, 29 suites and four villas, located at Serenity Close in Noosa Heads. That project is earmarked to open in 2028.Speaking on the approval of the new golf resort, Noosa Mayor Frank Wilkie said the hotel was an example of what can be achieved when applicants work with the council to deliver quality developments.“This project, coupled with the Calile Hotel approved in October last year, has been long planned and intended to boost capacity for high-spending visitors seeking a quality experience,” the Mayor said.
“Providing purpose-built, high-end resorts also eases pressure on our residential areas to deliver quality short-term accommodation.”The original proposal for the Noosa Springs resort was for 109-rooms.
“By taking concerns on board, the applicant has been able to deliver a hotel that has minimised impacts and returned ecological benefits, including the planting of 120 koala habitat trees, glossy black-cockatoo feed trees, plus landscaping and site rehabilitation with suitable native trees.”
