The northern hemisphere spring 2026 will see the opening of Borgo Pignano Florence, a hotel set within a 15th century Florentine villa.Positioned on the northern slopes of Montughi Hill, just minutes from the city’s cultural landmarks, it is the sister property to the award-winning Borgo Pignano near Volterra. The new estate reflects a similar ethos of sustainable luxury and artistic heritage, having been meticulously restored in a way that blends heritage and immersive cultural experiences.Spanning 12 acres, it is “the largest of any hotel in Florence”, including 11 historic buildings with 32 rooms and suites. Accommodation options range from Charming Rooms (25–27 sqm) to generous Signature Suites (80 sqm), each furnished with Venetian fabrics and marble bathrooms.Guests seeking privacy can opt for Villa La Sosta, a 385 sqm residence at the estate entrance, featuring five en-suite bedrooms, a secluded plunge pool and a formal Italian garden. It includes a separate entrance while offering full access to hotel amenities.

Dining at Borgo Pignano Florence will be led by Michelin-starred Chef Stefano Cavallini. The hotel will house two restaurants and two bars, with cuisine rooted in Tuscan tradition and shaped by organic produce from the Borgo Pignano estate in Tuscany. From seasonal small plates to signature cocktails, dining promises to reflect the property’s commitment to quality and authenticity. The estate also emphasises wellbeing, offering a 30-metre heated outdoor pool (one of the largest in Florence), spa, fitness area, solarium deck and jogging path.Cultural offerings will include private access to leading galleries, bespoke historical tours and artist residencies, along with hands-on experiences like wine and olive oil tastings, cocktail masterclasses and farm-to-table cooking lessons.Owned by Sir Michael Moritz KBE and his wife, creators of the original Borgo Pignano, the new property is described as “a refined enclave on the edge of Florence’s urban heart.”
