Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, shared that its Taj brand has yet again been named the ‘World’s Strongest Hotel Brand’ by Brand Finance. This marks the fourth time Taj has achieved this distinction.As per Brand Finance’s ‘Hotels 50’ 2025 report, “Taj is the World’s Strongest Hotel Brand, with a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 92.2 out of 100. The Indian hospitality group performs exceptionally well in its home market, scoring perfect 10s for brand knowledge and selection. Taj’s reputation for luxury and service is well established, reflected in its 97% awareness, 91% familiarity and 38% preference score in India.”Not surprisingly—as the World’s Strongest Hotel Brand—Taj also took the title of India’s Strongest Brand and was top-ranked in the Luxury Hotels 2025 sub-ranking. Taj’s portfolio totals over 134 hotels across 14 countries, comprising grand palaces, landmark city hotels, wildlife safari lodges, resorts and luxury serviced residences.

Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, said the honours “underscores Taj’s position as a global icon of hospitality.” He added that the brand’s expansion will continue throughout “gateway cities across the globe.”Dave Haigh, CEO & Founder, Brand Finance, said Taj’s ranking as the Strongest Hotel Brand in India and the World is “a testament of consistency of brand experience and the social responsibility it has embraced while maintaining its highest luxury standards.”Data from Brand Finance also showed that Taj’s brand value grew 22% year-on-year, reaching a brand value of $664 million (placing it No. 22 among all brands worldwide).
