Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur has officially opened in the tallest skyscraper in Asia Pacific, with the brand’s Malaysian debut taking the Park Hyatt portfolio to 50 properties worldwide.Located between levels 75 and 114 of the Merdeka 118 tower, the hotel represents an “important breakthrough” for the brand within Southeast Asia and worldwide, according to David Udell, Group President, Asia Pacific, Hyatt.“This makes for an exciting chapter for Hyatt’s brand growth in the region, with three new properties opening in Kuala Lumpur within a year, an expansion of diverse offerings,” he said.
The hotel’s 252 guestrooms and suites offer sweeping skyline views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Each space has been carefully crafted to balance relaxation and inspiration, complete with luxury amenities such as rain showers, aromatherapy steamers, and, in select rooms, private dining areas.Designed by G.A Group, the interiors draw from traditional Malay Kampung houses and Peranakan textures with perforated brass screens and batik canting patterns complemented by curated art installations celebrating Malaysia’s cultural richness.Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur also provides exclusive access to the Merdeka 118 Precinct, including historical landmarks such as Stadium Merdeka and the Al-Sultan Abdullah Mosque.“Merdeka 118 will be a catalyst to uplift communities and enhance Kuala Lumpur’s long-term vibrancy,” said YM Raja Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad Raja Tun Uda, Group Chairman of PNB. “We are excited to welcome the Park Hyatt brand to Malaysia as part of this landmark project which will unlock potential and build pride.”Dining at the hotel takes place at Merdeka Grill which focuses on premium meats and sustainable seafood, while Park Lounge revives lost Malaysian recipes with an elegant afternoon tea curated by Executive Pastry Chef Holger Deh.
