A&K Sanctuary’s Pure Amazon sets sail in Peru

The latest addition to the A&K Sanctuary fleet, Pure Amazon, has set sail on the waterways of the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve in the Peruvian Amazon.Described by the AKTG brand as the “most exquisite new boutique riverboat in the Amazon Basin”, the vessel has just 12 suites – 10 Adriana Granato, Studio Ibsen-designed double cabins and two single cabins, catering for a maximum of 22 guests. In addition, it promises “superb” food, and highly personalised 1:1 service.

The riverboat will explore the vast Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve in northern Peru, offering amazing wildlife spotting opportunities. It will sail three, four-night voyages between Iquitos and Nauta, or a combination of both to create a seven-night cruise.“We’ve built Pure Amazon from the ground up,” AKTG CEO Cristina Levis told LATTE back in May, explaining that AKTG acquired the hull of the ship when investing in Ecoventura in the Galapagos several years ago.“Everything guests find onboard has been chosen with a lot of attention to detail,” she added.The debut of Pure Amazon takes the A&K Sanctuary fleet to five, with four vessels currently sailing the Nile in Egypt. The company recently confirmed a new vessel Nile Seray would also set sail on the Nile in mid-2026.
