The new 18-day Rhine, Main & Danube Odyssey itinerary from Viking will combine two of its popular river voyages into one memorable journey.Sailing between Basel and Budapest in 2026, the new offering will take in the distinctive flavours of the Alsace region, visit the historic town of Bavaria and celebrate the musical heritage of Vienna, the cruise line revealed.“Let our world-class crew welcome you onboard our award-winning Viking Longships,” it said. “With clean Scandinavian designs, our vessels are intimate yet sophisticated and purpose-built to take you closer to each destination.”An extension of two nights in Budapest is also available, giving travellers an opportunity to explore Hungary’s legendary capital city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights include the Castle District, venturing across the Danube along the Chain Bridge and indulging in local cuisine.Those that add on the extension can save AU$4,800 per couple when they book by‌ 1‌ September‌ 2025.
