W Hotels has just opened its first all-inclusive hotel. Developed in partnership with Grupo Puntacana and MAC Hotels, W Punta Cana, Adult All-Inclusive marks “a significant milestone” for the brand as it opens in doors in the Dominican Republic. Following this opening, two additional W Hotels all-inclusive properties are set to open in Corasol Playa del Carmen and Costa Mujeres in 2028 and 2029, respectively.The adults-only resort has 340 guestrooms and suites starting at 65 square metres and comprising a bathtub and exclusively king bed configurations. For groups or couples travelling together, there are two-bed suites and the Oasis Mega Suites. There are also 46 suites with swim-up pools and other select suites with full-sized private pools. Guests can additionally expect 24-hour in-room dining, a signature “maxi-bar” with savory and sweet snacks and beverages.

Public Spaces and Dining

As far as public spaces, the resort has a 400-metre beachfront paired with the brand’s signature WET Deck, an 80-metre infinity pool. Alternatively, the Chill Pool offers a serene ambiance with a swim-up bar serving spritzers and healthy bites. The pools are surrounded by plenty of sunbeds, too.

Guests can avail themselves of 12 restaurants, bars and lounges. Trade Market is a food hall concept with live-action stations inspired by global street food. Another option, Scena reimagines contemporary Dominican and Caribbean-inspired cuisines in an elevated setting. Additional highlights include Noodle Bar, serving Pan-Asian street fare, and Sensazioni, a versatile bar and events theatre.Among the signature bars and lounges are Taproom, a modern microbrewery and beer hall, and Taman Beach Club, the resort’s social hub located near the WET Deck. For a more intimate experience, the 33 1/3 Speakeasy offers an exclusive hideaway where vinyl records set the tone.Entertainment at W Punta Cana is rooted in local culture and curated to create “an authentic social hub.” Guests can anticipate high-energy dance parties, artist residencies, wellness-focused sound sessions and culturally immersive events. The resort will also be home to a rotating live music lineup, curated in collaboration with Dominican-based electronic music collective Chinese Laundry. Music-driven experiences will range from DJ-led sound baths to beachside silent discos and nightly rooftop sessions.

Wellness at W Punta Cana, Adult All-Inclusive is centred around the brand’s signature AWAY Spa, which has 10 treatment rooms, a steam room, Himalayan salt room, sauna and indoor pool. The menu of treatments takes inspiration from local healing traditions.The spa is complemented by a beauty salon and a 24-hour, 140-square-metre FIT gym. Wellness extends beyond the spa with outdoor experiences such as sunrise yoga and other restorative rituals designed to create a sense of self and place.For those seeking additional adventure and exploration opportunities, the W Insiders and Whatever/Whenever team can arrange private tours of Punta Cana, explorations of national parks and private boats or yachts for diving and snorkelling around the island.
