A new luxury hotel will open in Seoul under the Mandarin Oriental brand in 2030, marking the hotel group’s entry into the South Korean market.
Located close to many of the city’s leading cultural landmarks, business addresses and lifestyle destinations, Mandarin Oriental, Seoul will offer just 128 rooms and suites.
The boutique-style property, a collaboration with Hanwha, represents a significant milestone in the group’s global expansion.
“Seoul is a dynamic cultural and economic hub and we are proud to be announcing our entry into this important market,” Laurent Kleitman, Group Chief Executive, said.
“Mandarin Oriental, Seoul will reflect our commitment to thoughtful growth, offering an experience that captures the essence of the destination while delivering the legendary service and design our guests expect.”

Acclaimed designer André Fu has been selected to design the interiors, blending “understated elegance with design elements that capture the essence of destination.”
Dining will play a central role in the guest experience. The hotel’s 21st floor will house a destination restaurant with panoramic views of the city. The 20th floor will feature two distinct culinary concepts, including an elevated international venue alongside a space dedicated to “refined Chinese cuisine.”
A high-end Korean Chef’s Counter will also offer “an immersive and theatrical” dining experience. The ground floor will also be home to a bar, lounge, and The Mandarin Cake Shop.
Event facilities will include a grand ballroom, flexible meeting rooms, and a private outdoor terrace, ideal for both social and corporate gatherings.
The hotel’s spa will be a standout feature, drawing on “Korea’s timeless healing traditions” combined with modern wellness techniques. Designed as “a serene sanctuary with a deep connection to nature,” The Spa at Mandarin Oriental will incorporate themes such as “Traditional Healing, Future Bathing, K Beauty, Mind Reset and Body Performance.”
Spanning four floors, the spa will offer a 25-metre pool, state-of-the-art fitness centre, golf simulators, a multiball court, a games room, and a dedicated kids’ club.
