Viking has revamped its trade loyalty program, Rewards by Viking, introducing new features to further recognise the value of trade partners, increase engagement and enhance the overall user experience.Rewards by Viking allows travel advisors to earn hundreds of reward points for booking Viking’s ocean, river and expedition cruises. These points can then be redeemed in the online Rewards by Viking store on a range of brand-name items – from electronics and sporting goods to beauty products and gift vouchers.

New features include:

  • Pending Points: Points will appear as ‘pending’ after booking a Viking cruise and allow agents to see the points value of each cruise they book, no longer having to wait until after the cruise departs.
  • Wish List: Agents can set themselves a rewards target and can work towards a goal by placing big-ticket items in their Wish List.
  • Gamification: Interactive online games provide opportunities for agents to earn points in real-time without even selling a cruise.
  • Training Modules: Complete Viking’s online training modules and earn points on the successful completion of each module.

Michelle Black, Viking ANZ Managing Director said the cruise line was proud of the evolution of the loyalty program for travel advisors, saying the upgrades will provide more opportunities than ever to earn points even during quieter selling periods.“Rewards points will accumulate automatically with some of the new features and may be redeemed within minutes from being earned – without the wait for manual point uploads like many loyalty programs.”“It’s important to us that our trade partners are rewarded for their hard work and support, which is why our online rewards store has remained open for the past 18-months – allowing agents to access and redeem points through these challenging times,” Black said.“Coupled with the fact that we are one of the only cruise lines with no Non-Commissionable Fares (NCFs), paying commission on all aspects of a Viking cruise booking, we are more committed than ever to our dedicated trade partners.”Travel advisors wishing to join Rewards by Viking can register at rewardsbyviking.com. As a special bonus, Viking is giving 500 Rewards by Viking points to new agents that register before 31 December 2021.
