Albatros Expeditions’ second Ulstein X-Bow hulled ship, Ocean Albatros, has successfully completed sea trials ahead of its service entry, flagged for May 2023.The Ulstein shipyard reported that the Polar Class vessel was put through its paces during some demanding conditions.“The terrible weather conditions, which included more than 20m/s storm and heavy fog, tried to put obstacles in the way for the first part of the sea trials for Ocean Albatros. However, SunStone Ships’ latest expedition cruise vessel made a great performance,” Ulstein reported.

“After eight days of continuous struggle, she successfully completed the trial mission.”Ocean Albatros is SunStone Ships’ sixth INFINITY Class ship, and is a sister ship to Ocean Victory which began operation in December 2021.Albatros Expeditions will operate the 95-stateroom and suite vessel on a long-term charter basis from SunStone.
