Tourism Fiji seeks new CEO as Hill steps down

After four years at the helm of Tourism Fiji, CEO Brent Hill will step down to return to Australia with his family.Hill will complete his tenure at the national tourism board at the end of August. The announcement of his departure follows that of the tourism board’s Chair and Fiji Airways CEO Andre Viljeon who confirmed last week that he was returning to head up Air Mauritius.Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism Viliame Gavoka honoured Hill’s contribution on behalf of the Fijian Government and the people of Fiji, crediting his leadership with the revitalisation of the country’s tourism sector post-pandemic.Meanwhile, Viljoen, who takes up his new role in October, said Hill’s legacy was clear, both for the organisation and the tourism industry as a whole.He highlighted major achievements as the successful execution of strategic corporate plans that have boosted visitor arrivals to an all-time record of more than one million. In addition, Hill has delivered Fiji’s major global brand campaign “Where Happiness Comes Naturally”, developed a Destination Development team and Tourism Super Week.Tourism Fiji confirmed that it will undertake an extensive search to find the right candidate to fill the role.
