The Tasmanian travel industry is first off the rank to educate travellers about making the right choice when using a travel agent. Running across radio, print and internet, the new consumer campaign message is simple: make sure your travel agent is ATAS accredited to ensure you receive the most value out your travels.ATAS stands for AFTA Travel Accreditation Scheme and is the accreditation scheme for Australian travel agents created by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA). The ATAS scheme requires travel agents to adopt a consumer code of conduct and to fully comply with all Australian Consumer Law, providing protection for customers when purchasing travel-related products and services. The Tasmanian campaign, “Pack Some Peace of Mind”, will run through September and October with the support of the Tasmanian Government.
