Fiji Airways will next week take delivery of its first new narrow-body aircraft, as the first oneworld Connect airline further enhances the inflight experience for guests travelling to Fiji on the full service airline.The delivery of the first of five 170-seat Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft joins the Fiji Airways’ fleet following “a rigorous and comprehensive induction process,” the airline said.It is registered as DQ-FAB and is named Island of Kadavu.Fiji Airways Boeing 737 MAX 8 Business Class rendering Fiji Airways Boeing 737 MAX 8 Business Class renderingFiji Airway’s Customer Experience, Engineering, Inflight Service Delivery and Flight Operations teams have worked hard over the past year to design the aircraft specifications.Due to enter service next month, the new aircraft has features including personalised seatback IFE (a first for FJ’s narrow-body fleet), quieter cabins, Sky Interiors mood lighting and comfortable leather seats in both Business and Economy Class. The hard product will be complemented by Fiji Airways’ renowned friendly Fijian service.Up the front, Fiji Airways offers an eight-seat, 2-2 Business Class configuration, with seats designed by its in-house Customer Experience team. Fiji Airways’ Economy Class cabin also features seatback IFEFiji Airways will deploy the 737 MAX 8 on routes from Nadi to Australia, New Zealand and Honolulu, with Adelaide earmarked as the launch route.
