The Witt Istanbul Hotel, part of Design Hotels™- with the help of the hotel staff and a few volunteer guests – has now added a rooftop terrace complete with Permaculture Garden.

Overlooking views of Bosphorus, Tokapi Palace and Galata Tower, the garden promotes sustainable urban practices through vermicomposting, planting for small city spaces and micro-green cultivation.

Diners at the hotel will too benefit from the sky-high garden, with strawberries, raisins, lavender and mustard herb just some of the ingredients grown fresh on the rooftop.

The hotel hopes the addition will reflect its desire to allow guests an intimate insight into the everyday life of Istanbul without risking style or comfort, with the 160 square-metre eco-space allowing guests views over a city that holds over 14 million residents.
