New for 2020 is the polar vessel, National Geographic Endurance, who will make her Antarctic debut in October 2020.Slated for delivery in January 2020, the 126-guest vessel is the first new polar build in the line’s history and uniquely equipped to facilitate unparalleled bases for discovery while providing state of the art features for an excellent experience.Travellers may choose from several itineraries, including: Guests visit the penguin rookeries, seeing adelies, chinstraps and gentoos in Antarctica; king penguins in South Georgia and macaroni penguins in the Falklands. Additionally, guests will have the chance to spot whales, leopard seals, albatross and more.National Geographic Endurance will also depart on Epic Antarctica, a new and unique itinerary that explores the seventh continent with only two departures. The 34-day expedition, departing on 27 December 2020 and 26 January 2021, will explore the Antarctic Peninsula, from West Antarctica to the Ross Sea.Travellers on select voyages will also have the opportunity to hear from Global Perspective guest speakers chosen from the top tiers of world affairs, journalism and exploration to join the community of guests on board. From ecologists to a former NASA Chief Scientist, guests will learn about the Antarctic’s ice and its environments from special guests including Christiana Figueres, Peter Hillary, Dr. Kathryn Sullivan and Dr. Robert Bindschadler.Clients can save $1,000 pp on the 12-day Journey to Antarctica: The White Continent for departure dates on 28 November, 8 December and 10 December 2019.
