Crystalbrook Collections opened its second five-star hotel in Cairns earlier this month. Dubbed Bailey, the hotel heroes the arts and provides the city with a much-anticipated cultural hub, demonstrating passion for creativity, gastronomy and sustainability.
Located in the heart of Cairns’ cultural precinct and just a stones throw from the Esplanade boardwalk and lagoon, Bailey features 255 spacious guest rooms and residences, three restaurants and bars, meeting spaces for up to 150 people, a rooftop mezzanine plunge pool and a 24-hour fitness centre. As part of building that cultural hub, Bailey will play host to an ever-evolving array of art forms across music, dance, painting, sculpture, literature and film to make art accessible, inclusive and empowering. The hotel will also host quarterly art programs from evening workshops, poetry recitals, dance performances or live graffiti sessions. The hotel features dedicated art spaces in the public areas as well as celebrating a different artist on each of the 12 floors. As a Cairns local, the hotel may have a soft spot for arts from the region but those from further afield will also be celebrated.
Bailey is a food-lover’s haven with an enviable selection of on-site restaurants designed to cater to any mood or occasion under the direction of executive chef Tyrone Hunt and chef de cuisine Matthew Larter. CC’s Bar & Grill draws inspiration from Crystalbrook’s own cattle station and redefines the traditional steak house, while their nostalgic milk bar brings back fond memories of times gone by. Pachamama will be opening in 2020, a stylish fusion of Latin flavours with a rooftop from which to enjoy an evening caipirinha.
