Qantas has today announced that it favours the Airbus A350-1000 for its potential non-stop ultra-long haul flights from the Australian eastcoast ports to destinations including London and New York.
International Airlines Group (IAG) – the parent company of British Airways, Iberia and Vueling – has confirmed an order for 18 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, plus 24 options, for British Airways.
The Boeing 777X jet will feature a 71.5-metre wingspan when in flight – longer than that of the 747-8 Intercontinental – providing an enormous amount of lift capability. When activated, the wingtips will rise upwards and reduce 777X’s wing span to 64.5 metres.
