Albatros Expeditions is hosting a season launch webinar for its newly-released 2026/2027 Antarctica program.

Albatros Expeditions has named Craig Upshall as the new Sales Director for Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. Upshall will commence in the role on 8 July 2024 bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of expedition travel.

Albatros Expeditions has confirmed it will officially christen its second Ulstein X-Bow hulled ship, Ocean Albatros, on 7 May 2024 at Nordre Tolbod, in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark – the birthplace of the family-owned company. The 169-passenger vessel has been in operation since May 2023.

Polar expedition specialist, Albatros Expeditions, achieved a historic milestone with both of its cutting-edge vessels, Ocean Victory and the Ocean Albatros, meeting for the first time at 65.067°S 64.027°W in the fabeld Lemaire Channel in Antarctica on the morning of 11 December.

Albatros Expeditions has confirmed the return of former Chief Executive Officer, Hans Lagerweij, to the polar expedition specialist’s top ranks. Lagerweij exited the cruise operator in early 2022 to take on a new opportunity at Four Seasons Yachts as Senior Vice President with the start-up. The cruise line operates the Ulstein X-Bow hulled Ocean Victory and Ocean Albatros ships.

Albatros Expeditions has welcomed the arrival and takeover of its newest vessel, Ocean Albatros, in Tromsø, Norway. The state-of-the-art ship arrived for the 2023 Arctic season, where it will depart on voyages to destinations of Svalbard, Iceland, and Greenland.

SunStone Maritime Group has accepted delivery of its sixth Infinity class ship, Ocean Albatros, which will be chartered year-round to Albatros Expeditions.

Albatros Expeditions has appointed Captain Michael Elwert as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Elwert was confirmed to the top role this week, but it’s understood he has been with the polar expedition specialist for the past six months.

Albatros Expeditions’ second Ulstein X-Bow hulled ship, Ocean Albatros, has successfully completed sea trials ahead of its service entry, flagged for May 2023.

Albatros Expeditions is winding back the capacity of its new expedition ships, Ocean Victory and the yet-to-sail Ocean Albatros.

Recent hull issues and a less than ideal condition of Ocean Atlantic has seen Albatros Expeditions terminate the charter arrangement of the vessel for the remainder of its Arctic season.
