Banyan Group has added Montenegro’s Mamula Island—a hotel housed in a 19th-century fortress in Boka Bay—to its portfolio. The hotel, resides in a UNESCO World Heritage site, will go by Mamula Island by Banyan Tree and will undergo several updates at the conclusion of the season ahead of its 2026 reopening.

Banyan Group says it will open the doors to Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto in the third quarter of 2024, marking the entry of the Banyan Tree brand in Japan. Located in the historic Higashiyama Ward of Kyoto City, Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto will feature 52 guestrooms, the signature Banyan Tree Spa and two distinctive dining experiences.
