Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group Kempinski is entering a new era of transformation and growth, with two key appointments to help drive this vision.

Kempinski Hotels has named former Silversea CEO, Barbara Muckermann, as its new Chief Executive Officer. Muckermann joins Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group with 82 hotels in 36 countries at an exciting time, as Kempinski prepares for impressive growth in new regions worldwide and more spectacular properties on the horizon.

Royal Caribbean Group has announced the shock departure of Barbara Muckermann from the group after 14 years with Silversea, the past 14 months as the ultra-luxury cruise line’s President. Muckermann’s departure to “pursue other opportunities” is effective immediately.

Silversea Cruises has confirmed current Chief Commercial Officer, Barbara Muckermann, will succeed current President and CEO Roberto Martinoli, effective 1 January 2023.

Ultra-luxury cruise line Silversea Cruises celebrated the inaugural arrival of its flagship, Silver Muse, into Sydney Harbour on Sunday 6 January 2019. The arrival of Silver Muse marks the first time in a decade that Silversea has brought one of its new vessels to Australia. Muse launched for the first time in April 2017. The ship was greeted by the Australian Girls’ Choir, singing at the pier at White Bay Cruise Passenger Terminal.
