The oneworld® alliance has unveiled its first ever fully branded dedicated airport lounge as the group prepares to celebrate its landmark 25th anniversary later this year.

Finnair has named Turkka Kuusisto as its new CEO, commencing in the role from 11 July 2024, at the latest. Kuusisto joins Finnair from Posti Group Corporation, where he has served as the CEO since 2020. Prior to his CEO position at Posti, Kuusisto served in senior leadership positions with the corporation and with Lindorff Group.

Finnair has this week confirmed it will push back the planned switch across to the Avios loyalty program for its frequent flyer members from the previously earmarked late January 2024 date to 6 March.

Finnair is introducing a new direct service to Tokyo ahead of the 2020 Olympic Games. The Finnish carrier already operates daily flights between Helsinki and Tokyo Narita. It will introduce daily services to Tokyo Haneda using Airbus A350-900 aircraft effective 29 March, 2020, subject to slot availability.

Finnair has rolled out a new online service that makes Finnish travel experiences easily accessible to international travellers. Dubbed Now/here, the service combines inspirational content with real-time inventory and availability for experiences, hotels and flights from a large number of sources. The service will be expanded to cater for the whole Nordic region in the future.
