ID Travel Group is taking steps to make hotel and resort bookings from its portfolio more convenient for Australian clients by offering Australian Dollar pricing, LATTE can exclusively reveal. The currency initiative, along with opening up the product of Island Escapes to the US market in US dollars, is expected in the second half of 2025 as the business prepares to integrate the backend reservation platform of its most recent acquisition.

Global luxury tour operator ID Travel Group (ID) has acquired Melbourne-based tour operator and experts in Fiji and the South Pacific, Island Escapes. The sale will see the 21-year-old Australian business join the ID Travel Group family from 1 October 2024.

Luxury tour operator dedicated to travel advisors, ID Travel Group, has recorded an outstanding start to 2024, tripling its number of sales from partners in Australia and NZ during January compared to 12 months earlier. Announcing the result at the Sydney leg of ID Travel Group’s recent roadshow, Laurie Palumbo, Partner & Chief Operating Officer said she was “absolutely thrilled” with the performance by local sellers.

US-based B2B travel company Island Destinations Travel Group has expanded its core program of upmarket hotels branded under the IDx moniker, to include packaged itineraries, dubbed ID Ultimate Itineraries.
