With Alaska in the throes of another busy cruise season, environmental advocates are raising the alarm over the growing footprint of the cruise industry in the region.

Seabourn is setting course for an extraordinary 2025 Alaska season as Seabourn Quest makes her maiden arrival to “The Last Frontier.” From May to September 2025, the ultra-luxury ship will sail on 18 seven-day itineraries between Vancouver, British Columbia and Juneau, Alaska.

Seabourn has reworked its itineraries for its upcoming 2021 Alaska and British Columbia season, to create 18 seven-day voyages operating between Vancouver and Juneau.

UnCruise Adventures has relaunched cruising in southeast Alaska in 2020 after a COVID-19 induced pause. The cruise line says it will be the only small boat operator cruising in those waters for the northern summer.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NCLH) is set to bolster its presence in the Alaska market having entered into a 30-year preferential berthing agreement with Ward Cove Dock Group, paving the way for construction of a new double ship pier in Ward Cove, Ketchikan.

Windstar Cruises has announced its 2021 Alaska season will feature nine different journeys from June through September on four itineraries, including a new seven-day option from Vancouver to Juneau and the reverse. The program will feature coastal wilderness cruising along the Canadian Inside Passage, as well as time in Alaska’s Misty Fjords, Tracy or Endicott Arms, with stops in Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway (a first-time port for Windstar), and Juneau.
