An investment of more than US$100 million will see LATAM Airlines Group launch a new mid-tier Premium Comfort cabin in 2027 as it aims to transform the long-haul flying experience.

LATAM Airlines Group will significantly boost its Australian operations with the launch of daily non-stop services to Santiago, Chile from both Sydney and Melbourne later this year.

LATAM Group will begin operating three aircraft featuring renovated cabins, highlighted by the Recaro R7 suites in Premium Business. These new suites retrofitted to Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner jets, offer increased comfort and privacy with sliding doors and interiors inspired by the natural beauty of South America.

Aussies will be able to visit Peru’s legendary Machu Picchu without even leaving the country thanks to the imminent launch of the Machu Picchu and the Golden Empires of Peru exhibition at Sydney’s Australian Museum.

The South American carrier has relaunched its direct link between Sydney and Santiago de Chile with its Boeing 787-9 aircraft flying the four times weekly service.

LATAM Airlines will reintroduction direct flights from Sydney to Santiago four times per week, commencing on 28 October 2024, offering travellers daily direct routes between Australia and Latin America.

LATAM Airlines has resumed flights to Melbourne, Australia, following a pause of almost three and a half years due to the pandemic. Yesterday (Sunday 3 September), at 5:30 am, flight LA805 landed at Melbourne Airport with 292 passengers on board — the start of thrice weekly flights from Santiago.

LATAM Airlines this week surpassed 300 million COVID-19 vaccines transported free of charge within Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, and Peru. This initiative is part of LATAM’s Solidary Plane program, which makes LATAM’s passenger and cargo network available for the benefit of people and sustainability projects in South America.

Delta Air Lines and LATAM Airlines Group (LATAM) have reached an agreement to launch frequent-flyer reciprocity across their broad networks, offering customer benefits across more than 435 destinations worldwide. Additionally, the carriers continue to expand codesharing across more flights throughout the region, adding expanded connectivity for customers.

LATAM Airlines Group will disengage from participation with the oneworld airline alliance effective 1 May 2020. Up to and including 30 April 2020, there will be no change to the reciprocal benefits offered on all oneworld member flights*. To continue providing broad and seamless connectivity for customers, LATAM will maintain bilateral agreements, network access and customer benefits with the majority of oneworld members.
