Mahali Mzuri, Sir Richard Branson’s luxurious tented safari camp in Kenya’s iconic Maasai Mara, has officially reopened its doors following a complete interior redesign – its first full refurbishment since it was launched in 2013.

Virgin Limited Edition’s luxury tented safari camp, Mahali Mzuri in Kenya’s Maasai Mara, is set to undergo a full interior refurbishment. The project will include a re-concept of the 12 luxury tents and common areas, including the dining tent, bar and lounge, and breathtaking swimming pool, which overlooks the valley encompassing the route of the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Non-residents visiting Kenya’s Maasai Mara Reserve are now being charged US$100 per person per day to access the iconic game park after new fees were introduced on 1 January 2024. Previously, the rates was US$70 per person, per day, year-round.

JW Marriott has this week raised the curtain of JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge, marking the company’s highly anticipated debut in the luxury safari segment.

Luxury safari lodge specialist, Nicky Fitzgerald, has revealed plans to develop a new intimate-sized Angama camp in Amboseli, Kenya. A sister-property to Angama Mara which debuted in Kenya’s Maasai Mara in 2015, Angama Amboseli will have exclusive access to Kimana Sanctuary, a 5,700-hectare game-filled wildlife corridor linking the greater Amboseli, Chyulu Hills and Tsavo ecosystems.
