The first ever Guerlain Spa in Mauritius has opened at the One&Only Saint Géran, featuring treatments inspired by the island’s natural beauty.

Air Mauritius has rebooted its service to Australia, with Flight MK440 touching down at Perth Airport on Wednesday [2 November 2022] morning.

German ultra-luxury cruise line, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, will begin welcoming international guests back on board two of its ships from January 2022.

For 2020, progressive Mauritian boutique hotel SALT of Palmar has launched a guest chef series with a line-up of well-known, sustainably minded cooks who will collaborate with the resort’s local chefs to create one-off events and specialist dishes.

Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas has revealed a move into the luxury hospitality sector on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius with the launch of Anantara Mauritius Resort, scheduled to open in Q4 2019.

There is excellent air connection between Australia and Mauritius via Singapore Airlines, and, once on the Indian Ocean island, plenty of luxury resorts await.  I went to check out two of the newest, both members of the just-renamed The Lux Collective.

Opening rates for the newly launched hotel brand, SALT, have been set for its first property, the 59-key SALT of Palmar that will open on the east coast of Mauritius on 1 November, 2018. 

The parent company of upmarket hotel brand LUX*, The Lux Collective, has revealed the development of a new sister brand that aspires to “connect modern explorers with meaningful travel experiences”. Dubbed SALT, the new brand will be positioned on par with LUX* and will be a “boutique luxury offering” ideally suited for the Australian market, The Lux Collective CEO Paul Jones told LATTE this week.

LUX* Grand Gaube officially opened this month and its first guests are already bubbling with enthusiasm at its eclectic retro-chic style. British born design guru Kelly Hoppen MBE has worked her magic, making guests feel at home in an extraordinary world true to Mauritian architect Jean-Francois Adam’s vision of contemporary yet timeless Indian Ocean living.
